Our New York City clinic frequently offers treatments in several key areas. These include the space between the eyebrows - often referred to as the "11s" or the glabella, the forehead, where we can additionally elevate the eyebrows if required, the region around the eyes, known as 'crow's feet', the neck area (specifically, the platysmal bands), and the masseter muscle in the cheeks. This last area is targeted both for facial contouring purposes and to alleviate TMJ discomfort.

We also commonly inject the Trapezius muscle at the base of the neck to help relieve tension in this area, while also improving posture and giving the illusion of a lengthened neck.

We use Botox to control excessive sweating, called hyperhidrosis, particularly in the underarms.

Recovery and Follow Up

There is not much recovery when it comes to Botox. Areas that are injected can appear bumpy at first but this usually resolves in 5-10 minutes. Sometimes areas that are injected can be bruised but this resolves quickly and would be a very small bruise. The great majority of the time there is no bruising.

You will start to see some effects within a few days after your Botox injection. The full benefits of Botox can take 2 weeks to come in. If at 2 weeks you feel like you need anything adjusted or if you feel like more Botox is needed come in for a complimentary touch-up procedure. [*There are no touch-ups available for Trapezius Botox, Masseter Botox, Calf Botox, or Botox for Hyperhidrosis. Extra treatment of these areas will require an extra charge.]

Appointment Details

Appointments for Botox can generally be completed in about 15 minutes. Botox at our office is very comfortable as we use the patented Invisible Needles for all of our injections in the face and neck. If anyone wants further comfort, prescription numbing creams, vibration, ice sticks, Pro-Nox, and other pain reducing measures are always available at our office .
