ResurFx Fractional Laser Resurfacing is a very popular laser in our NYC office. Use on the face and neck to improve texture, wrinkles, and fine lines, as well as to treat acne scars and other scarring. ResurFx also treats sun damage as well. Procedure Overview

The Lumenis ResurFx Fractional Laser Resurfacing device is the most advanced non-ablative resurfacing laser in NYC. It combines a 1565 nm laser with the most advanced scanner to treat many different skin concerns all over the body.

The Fractional laser produces zones of thermal energy in the skin (safe little injuries) that signal to the body to activate the skin's wound healing pathway. This generates new collagen formation in the skin.

The ResurFX laser resurfaces the skin and produces new collagen formation. This helps treat wrinkles and fine lines, improves skin texture, acne scars, scars, stretch marks, and tightens skin.

The most common areas we treat are the face, neck, décoletté, breasts, buttock, thighs, and abdomen.

Recovery and Follow Up

Treatments are done monthly as a package of 3, 5 or 10 sessions.

Patients are typically red and swollen for about 1 day and then pink for 2-3 days. 24 hours after the procedure we allow light makeup to be worn over the treated areas if needed, making the treatment very low downtime. The laser is very flexible in terms of strength of treatment with light treatments having even less downtime and more aggressive treatments more dowtime.

Appointment Details

Patients numb for 10-15 minutes with a prescription numbing cream. After numbing the skin is thoroughly cleansed and then laser treatment is completed. Treatment of the face takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Following the laser, patients use a device to cool their face and treatment is complete.
