Procedure Overview

During an Ultherapy treatment, a specially designed handheld device delivers focused ultrasound energy to the deeper collagen layers of the skin called the SMAS. This is actually the layer that doctors address in surgical facelift procedures. With Ultherapy the energy triggers the body’s natural regenerative process, stimulating collagen production and gradually strengthening and lifting the skin.

Ultherapy is a procedure that tightens and lifts the skin and smooths wrinkles. It does this in a completely non-invasive procedure that has no downtime.

We most commonly treat the lower face combined with the upper neck to tighten and lift the lower face and sharpen the jawline. We also treat the lower neck, around the eyes, and the brow. Off-label we use Ultherapy to tighten skin above the knees, around the abdomen, and other areas of the body needing tightening.

Recovery and Follow Up

There is no downtime associated with Ultherapy. Some mild swelling is possible after Ultherapy but is typically so mild that nobody else would notice.

Collagen will continue to form for 6 months.

Appointment Details

We apply a prescription strength numbing cream before treatment. We also have vibratory and cooling distraction devices to help decrease any discomfort.
